For those of you that are interested in the British monarchy, this is an illustration of Queen Victoria‘s bridesmaids scanned from a 1901 publication that I own. Victoria had 12 bridesmaids but for some reason there’s only 9 in this picture:
The nine bridesmaids are as follows:
- Lady Wilhelmina Stanhope
- Lady Caroline Lennox
- Lady Elizabeth Howard
- Lady Mary Fitzalan Howard
- Lady Sarah Villiers
- Lady Jane Bouverie
- Lady Mary Grimston
- Lady Frances Cowper
- Lady Elizabeth Sackville West
The three bridesmaids not shown were:
- Lady Adelaide paget
- Lady Eleanor paget
- Lady Ida Hay.
Queen Victoria married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha on 10th February, 1840 at Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace, in London.
