Today I’m sharing a set of 4 early 1900’s vintage birthday postcards from the Milton Hand Coloured Bromette Series No. 560. The postcards were unused stock from a post office in Rochdale and they’re in fantastic condition for their age.

As you can see the postcards have small countryside scenes, framed and surrounded by flowers but what I like the most are the decorative drop caps on the 1st initial of each word.
The Milton Series was a name used by a London-based publishers called Woolstone Brothers; they published many types of postcards using a lot of different techniques.
Our birthdays are feathers in the broad wing of time.
