I have a 1937 Robertson’s jam advert to share that I scanned from a magazine called Home Chat; quite a small publication for women containing tips for the home, dress patterns, short stories, recipes and competitions.
This is the original page and advert showing Golly which was retired and no longer used for branding in 2002:
This is a cleaned up version of the bramble seedless Jam advert:
This is the front cover of the Home Chat magazine, number 2189, (March 6th 1937) where the advert was scanned from:
- Robertson’s was established in 1864 in Paisley, Scotland.
- The company began when Mrs Robertson started making marmalade in the family grocery shop.
- Robertson’s marmalade have been awarded a Royal Warrant by King George V in 1933, and subsequently by both King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
- Robertson’s is most well-known for its Marmalades, but has also been making Mincemeat since 1891.
